iPhone Dock Updated!

Updated and now mounted and working properly. In the prototype I was using a 5v regulator ‘7805′, which led to problems because of the heat it generated. I also had the dock mounted in front of the dash, rather than above it. This made it difficult to access the heating controls (oops!)

iPhone dock for your car

This idea has been in my head since I first got my iPhone. When I get into my car I want a super cool place to stick the phone so it not only charges, but connects to my car stereo and plays music and stuff. Being the geek that I am, I didnt even bother checking if one existed. I just started plotting and designing my own. Actually, it’s not that difficult at all.

DIY iPod/iPhone headset adapter

If you are like me, you enjoy gaming. Voice chat is a great feature in games, especially if you are an admin and are constantly communicating with players. The ipod/iphone headset is very good for hands-free communication. The microphone is embedded into the cable and is in the perfect position to pick up your voice. However, the connector is not computer-friendly. Until now..
