After ‘finding’ the part of a coke machine that blinks ‘ICE COLD COCA COLA’, I wired it up. Somehow the idea of a blinking coke ad on my desk was appealing. Turns out the device is just the display, and still needs to be controlled with a serial stream. Here’s how to bit-bang a Micrel-based multi display.
