LCD TV Backlight Inverter Swap

Yet another broken LCD TV came its way to me, this time for free. This particular model has a dead backlight. Since I have a slightly larger TV with no image panel and a nice working backlight, is it possible to swap them, knowing they are incompatible?

Another Broken LCD TV

Today I bought a 32” Sony LCD TV with a bad mainboard. Why? Because I am going to combine it in the most evil-mad-scientist way possible with my older 42” Sharp LCD TV with the smashed screen to make a Franken-Sony! It will think it’s a Sharp, which is great!

LCD TV Light Table

It seems people enjoy donating their broken and useless electronics to me. My uncle gave me a nice 42″ LCD TV. Unfortunately this TV had unfortunate accident involving a childs foot (thats right, a TV that has not been smashed by a wiimote, how rare!). Yet another LCD panel tragically takn before it’s time at the hands of a child. Tsk tsk. Parents really should invest in plexiglass TV guards. Anyway, here’s how I turned it into a laptop-controlled light table with audio.
